School Group Information
BBX Royal Hobart Show
We’ve continued to upgrade our educational resources and focus to ensure the 2015 Royal Hobart Show provides an enjoyable and educational hands-on experience for all students. The Show will come to life from Wednesday 21st October - Saturday 24th October with many old favorites and new spectacles to delight and entertain.
Teachers Guide
In 2015 we have again updated our Teachers Guide with more links and ideas. We’ve included Skootle links and you’ll find a lot of Tasmanian relevant content in our background pages. Our Discovery Sheets are designed so that our stewards and volunteers are equipped to answer the questions within them. The Guide should provide all the information that you need to know about the Show.

Concession Group Days
Wednesday and Friday
When attending as part of a school group, Primary and Secondary students will be provided with concessional
admission ($3.50) on either Wednesday 21st October or Friday 23rd October.
Student Admission
Primary and Secondary Students are still $3.50 each when attending as part of a school group
- One accompanying teacher or carer adult admitted FREE with each group of 6 students
- Additional adults or carers who accompany the school group pay the concessional price of $18 each
Children under 5 FREE
A School Group Booking Application Form must be lodged with the Show Administration Office. Contact details are on the form. The booking form is available for download here.
On receipt of the Booking Form a School Group pass will be sent to the contact person. The school group pass must be presented at the point of entry to the Showground. Gate staff will check numbers, a teacher will be asked to sign off and an invoice will then be issued to the school. Cash can also be paid at the gate.
School Bus Parking
Charter Buses – NOTE: the Knoll St drop off is no longer available (a map will be supplied with your entry tickets)
A. Depending on the bus route, either the Racecourse car park or the Car park on corner of Goodwood Rd and Brooker Highway. Access to the show is across the Brooker Highway via the pedestrian lights manned by Traffic Controllers. Buses may park all day in either car park.
B. Drop off students and teachers at the Bus Stop opposite Cosgrove High School and proceed through the alleyway next to the tile shop to the front gates of the Showground. Bus to then proceed to either car park. Pick up can also be done from here. Buses must be travelling toward the city from Glenorchy to utilise this bus stop. (PARKING MAP WILL BE SENT WITH CONCESSION TICKET)
BUSES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO STOP AT MAIN GATE AND WILL BE RE-DIRECTED BY RAST STAFF.
