Bond
The Bond has been in existence since 1909 and is derived from crossing Peppin strain Merinos with imported Lincoln rams. It produces a bulky, long stapled, bright wool of 22 to 28 microns in diameter. Bonds are a dual-purpose breed, producing good prime lamb carcases. A small number of flocks still exist, mainly in the south-east of Australia and South Australia.
