Many organisations interested in aligning their internal information security management systems with the ISO 27001:2013 standard are often unsure as to the specific evidence they need to have on hand in order to demonstrate to an auditor that they are compliant with each of the requirements in the standard. This spreadsheet a screenshot of which is provided below provides guidance on different types of evidence that may be useful to demonstrate compliance with each
requirement. Organisations can also document what evidence they do actually have against each requirement in the spreadsheet to speed up the audit process.

Ask Hivit

Since our last update, we have had a question asked about data sovereignty requirements that apply to superannuation data and whether this precludes the transfer of such data overseas.

Click here for the question and our response (which applies not only to superannuation data, but potentially other types of financial
information).

If you have a security question you would like an opinion on, please post it to the forum (either the public forum; or if you are a paid subscriber, to your private forum if you prefer) and we will answer it for you.

As always, we welcome feedback and are continuing to develop and add to the site.

Yours in security,

Nick & Craig
