Ever flown over the Icthys Darwin oil and
gas project?
Well, we are here to report, it’s huge. We recently had the chance to take a helicopter over the giant project and were seriously impressed with its size and the progress that is being made to get one of the worlds most significant oil and gas projects to production.
We were also impressed to see the number of DomeShelter Fabric Dome Structures in use throughout the giant site. Too many to count. It made sense though because it is the perfect example of best practice in the use of Fabric Structures on a construction site.
Some of the key reasons these Dome Structures are well used at Icthys onshore facility include
- Transportable; Can be transported to site with ease
- Erectible; easily and quickly erected by on-site teams
- Relocatable; Can be dismantled just as easily to shift across site
or off site.
- Cooler; up to 20% cooler than similar steel structures
- Brighter; uses natural light during day, no need for artificial lights
- Cheaper; up to 1/4 cost of steel alternative
- Faster; from design to installation is quick
